I admit it: I'm not a mom

But I know as well as anyone the joy of staying home to work. (I've gotten away with it most of my adult life!) And I know how much meaning it can have.

• Being your own boss
• Setting your own hours
• Owning your own work

And imagine how great it would be to

• be completely available to your kids
• be a total inspiration to your kids

What you may not have realized is that something you probably use every day has put the dream of working from home within your reach.

The internet.

Now it's just your job to reach out and grab the dream.

Here's what I'm talking about...

A lot of us are misinformed. We think it's hugely complicated to put up a website. I used to think the internet was so far beyond my capabilities that - even though I had great ideas - I just put the thought of my own website out of my mind.

Then I found the easiest way in the world to put up a website. And then...

I found out that the easy way actually works better than the hard way.

That's right! My non-techie, one guy website gets more visitors than any site created by any web designer I know of! Why?

Because it's a web designer's job to make putting up a website look like something only professionals can do. (Otherwise, what's the point of being a professional?)

So they make great looking sites that don't get very many visitors, because all they know how to do is make great looking sites. Do you know what attracts visitors?

• Words
• Personality
• Knowledge about the subject you're writing about

I'm betting you have all three! Now you just need the magic recipe that lets you turn Words - Personality - Knowledge into a business!

What do you know about?

I just visited the Site Build It (SBI) forums, where all us work-at-homers hang out and trade business building tips! I made a quick inventory of a tiny corner of the forum and took a small sample of the work at home mom sites. Sites about:

• toys
• puzzles
• the spa life
• hair styling
• homeschooling
• wedding crafts
• games for kids
• healthy eating
• home organizing
• family vacations
• crockpot recipes
• Christian single parents
• throwing birthday parties
• low-carb weight loss tips
• Sunday school activity ideas

You see, a site can be about anything, because there are people out there (like you!) with interests in everything.

(Imagine a hobby - something that costs you money - becoming a business - something that makes you money.)

So what would your site be about? What should it be about?

Something you can see immersing yourself in. Something you can see exploring further. Something you have a passion for.

Is success guaranteed?

Picture it

You. At home. With your kids. Working when you want to, rather than when you have to.

You're an expert in your field. Your words are being read by complete strangers the world over. Your site is making money for you even as you sleep!

Some of us don't have to picture it, because it's already happening. Why don't you join us?

Inspiration

Throughout this page, I've sprinkled videos of Site Build It work at home moms so excited about their websites and their new lives that they just had to share.

Watch any of them. Watch all of them. Get excited.

Then click.

Click to excitement. Click to your future. Click to "Yes, I can," and being all you can be.

Imagine what it would be like to be the owner of your own chunk of virtual space, a place thousands of people come to each day in order to learn what you know.

Skeptical?

Okay, this section is just for the skeptics, because I used to be one of you. I hear you saying what I used to say:

"So what if people come to my site? How am I supposed to make money? I don't spend money when I go to any site except Amazon!"

• See where it says, "Ads by Google"? I make money.
• See all those Amazon books? I make money.
• See that search box? I make money.
• Buy from ebay after visiting this page. I make money.

No matter what your site is about, there are ways to make money from it. (Why else do you think people would bother building sites???)
