The Diary of Anne Frank
Raised in a Baptist environment, I went to Bible school as a child and enjoyed the Kool-aid and cookies and pretty stories, but didn't question the veracity of the dogma or the existence of God until I read the Diary of Anne Frank when I was fourteen.
That book literally set me on the road to thinking more than any of the other thousand books I digested as a kid. I became an atheist because of that book and have never swerved in this particular belief.
I feel thankful to have gotten perspective on this wide world we live in.
