Imaginative Illustrator
Hi! My name is Angela Montgomery and I am currently an illustrator, always willing to express words through pictures. In May, 2009, I graduated with a BFA in Illustration at the University of Arizona. I illustrated my own text-less narrative, and a few art books, which you may feel free to look at on my web site. I am proficient in a variety of media, including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, oils, watercolors, acrylics, and ink. My range of work is versatile and my style may adapt with any given project. However, inspiration of pop-culture, toys, animation, and the playfulness of children are encompassed in my current work. I am willing to be negotiable and willing to do sample sketches. E-mail Angela. Visit Angela Montgomery online.

Children Are Part of the Landscape!

Rex - Children's Book Illustrator
I am a free-lance artist/illustrator who has specialized in watercolors, pastels, pen & ink and pencil. I am proficient in, but not limited to landscapes. I have also worked as a commercial artist.
I developed an interest in children's book illustrations watching my five grandchildren grow and sharing their love of picture books. I have sketched cartoon characters with them over the years for their pleasure and found this to be a great way of expressing myself. My renditions are colorful and vibrant which is how I feel children's books should be.
I am basically self-taught, although I did learn from Tom Lea as a youngster and took courses from The Art Institute and Famous Artists, plus some classes in college.
I am presently working on my own children's book for which the illustrations are complete. The text is a work-in-progress.
I would love to chat with an aspiring author and share ideas. Illustrating a picture book for children would be a dream-come-true for me. I feel that I can contribute enthusiasm and creativity to your project.
As far as my fees are concerned; it would strictly be a matter of how much detail the author desires which directly relates to the time required to complete the project. I would not charge an hourly fee, but instead would quote an "up-front" price based on how many illustrations are agreed upon, giving me an idea of how much time I would need.
I would be happy to provide a sample illustration for consideration and review for the author's approval.

Pencil sketch, then color
by markie paxton
(Phoenix, Az)
red winged blackbird
Everything starts with a simple sketch, and I love new starts!!
I generally begin with a pencil illustration and then color and finish it in GIMP.
I am currently working on 2 childrens books and have self-published 2 kid books of my own. I seem to be able to do from the simplest to anatomical.
While fees generally start at $50 per page, this is negotiable. I'm quick, adaptable and am stuck at 6 in my head, and with email, sketches can be flying all over the place until we agree on the project development!!
Please check out my work, and I look forward to working with you. Contact me by email at markiepaxton@rocketmail.com.

Expressive, Heartfelt Artist

I call it Contemporary Spiritual
Expressive, Heartfelt Artist Would Love to Help Tell Your Story
Hi There! I am a freelance artist currently planted in Santa Fe, NM. I come from a mixed background and have lived in 4 states as well as overseas and bring those worldly sensibilities to my work. I've dabbled in children's books (book cover, character development) and would like to work more with the genre. I primarily use ink and prismacolor pens for my characters to bring out crisp lines and vivid colors, and often spray paint the background to bring a nice complimentary contrast. My style is expressive and heartfelt, humorous and witty, and has traces of urban art, cartoons, and anime. Still, I often hesitate to describe my work under one genre because it's very versatile and I can adapt when needed. Rates would be dependent on what you're looking for, deadlines, ownership of the work, etc... I would be more than happy to open a conversation to find a balance that is reasonable for both you and I. Visit Michael Rohner's website.

Children's Illustrations and Vignettes by Tara Case
(Copperas Cove, Texas, United States)
Miles

In high school, I had a very professional and knowledgeable art teacher who taught me how to put together an effective portfolio. I'm currently working on my degree in art. I've been drawing and painting ever since I can remember. Now that I'm older, it's really easy for me to see who and what has inspired me. Growing up with three sisters, my art tends to be very feminine, ethereal. However, since I've had my son, my eyes have also been opened to the curious world of boy-dom. I love drawing people, and most of all children. My goal is always to capture the heart and existence of whoever it may be I'm drawing I love watercolor. It lends itself very well to my style. I'm also very accomplished in other mediums as well: graphite, acrylic, oil, batik, charcoal, conte, and others. I'm very open to suggestions and completely interested in working with other's ideas and thoughts. I'm always looking to better my work.
