Quaint and Artsy: Children's Book Illustrations

Quaint and Artsy Illustration

I illustrate with watercolors, creating a colourful, homespun look for children's books. My focus is on simple figures that appeal to children (people, toys, animals, etc.).

Each picture is unique and personal, done by hand and only slightly edited on photoshop. As a book illustrator, I have been inspired by the work of Beatrix Potter, A.A. Milne, and Edmund Dulac.

I am eager to illustrate! I am open to low-budget contracts and am happy to discuss any project depending on its content, length and time-restrictions. I am also willing to provide a few sample sketches.

Please contact me by email: Katie Hanlon

I would love to hear from you!

Wonderful Artist
by: A. O'Brien

Katie Hanlon's art is unfailingly delightful, whimsical and charming. She has provided illustrations for a number of my books, and always captured the mood and details of her subject. Every time, I am more than happy with the result, and continue to enjoy her fresh, vintage style.
