Need a monster? A soft landscape? Spaceship, perhaps? Just a cover? Every page?
I'm your girl!
I work in acrylic and mixed media (depending on the desired look and feel). Once the piece moves into the digital realm, I enhance the work in photoshop making it print ready and in any digital format required.
I require at least 2 example pictures of the style and feel you are looking for (just pulled off of google is fine) and descriptions for each plate. Rates are by project and generally $75 - $150 per illustration. I happily accept paypal.
My work has been used by Wells College, Swarcon Labs, and private authors such as Marc Quaglia.
You can see more of my work at Amara Art.

(Bainbridge Island, WA)

My drawings have personality
They feel spontaneous and full of movement. They are neither slick nor trendy; instead, they are a little rough and evoke a slightly different time or place. They are not flat--they provoke an emotional reaction.
I enjoy drawing animals and am able to capture their emotions.
When asked to illustrate a scene, I resist merely reflecting what the words have already said. Because I am a writer as well, I understand narrative pretty well, and so I try with my illustrations to augment the narrative, adding something that furthers the story.
I think this is the way a musical works too. Songs in a musical do not merely repeat what the spoken words have already conveyed. The songs add to the story and move it along.

I love to see the look on children's faces when they see my fantasy drawings or paintings. I draw anything from whimsical to fanasy. Drawings to fit others' stories and make it so that the picture tells the story even if you can't read.
As a child who had great difficulty reading I started to read the books by looking and studying the illustrations, and as an adult artist I figured why not paint or draw a picture that paints a thousand words? I can be very detailed in my work; it is often those fine details that catch the eye of those looking at the work and make them want more.

Let cute art design create your children's book illustrations! I can support you with high quality but inexpensive illustrations. I am a freelance local artist and writer in Renton, Washington.

Recently, I have illustrated my children's stories in the World Journal newspaper, which is a famous Chinese language newspaper in the United States. I really enjoy drawing for the World Journal and I will continue doing it.
My illustrations are done by hand, but I also use a computer for editing and page layout. The tools my hands use for producing my artwork are:
 - pencil - color pencil - pastel

Faery and turtle protected by magical bubble from flames. One of many different styles I can create
Illustrator to help your story come to life
My name is Lisa Lang. I have a very diverse way in art. I airbrush, paint, draw. The style of illustrating I like to do is also as diverse.
Ranging from simple cartoon like characters, realistic, fantasy, animals, and more. I like to challenge myself to new ideas and don't choose to limit my style to type of illustration. I know I would be a good canadate for childrens books and am excited to move forward in this venture.
Sincerely,
Lisa Lang Seattle, WA

Multicultural Illustration & Fine Art

(Oregon, USA)
The Swan Messenger
Multicultural Illustration & Fine Art
Art has the power to uplift, transform, and inspire our lives and the world we live in. My art ranges from nonchalant playful illustrations, to sacred art, to projects incorporating environmental and social awareness.
I am versatile in pencil, ink, chalk pastel, watercolor, and oil paint media. I adapt my technique and style according to the project, be it line and wash, vignette, calligraphic brush marks, or highly developed sketches and oil paintings. I enjoy depicting peoples and cultures from around the world. Composition, sketching, and watercolor painting are my forte.
I have completed commissioned artwork and freelance illustration for clients? book covers, chapter illustrations, coloring books, accent artwork, cards, and calendars. Based in Oregon, USA, my goal is to collaborate on a children's picture book project.
Proceeds from my artwork help to support CHARM (the Children's Art Mission), a 501c3 nonprofit organization, promoting arts and education for children in India.
My art has a distinct joie de vivre and vibrance that is timeless. I look forward to collaborating with you and creating the best visual impact possible for your project.
Please visit my online portfolio at (webmaster's note: sorry, link dead) and contact me to request a free sample sketch and quote for your project.
cheers,
Manjari
About my background:
As an undergraduate I studied watercolor technique and plein air painting in Sienna, Italy, under the tutelage of Satoko Okito. After completing my B.A. at the University of Oregon in Art and International Studies with a specialization in South Asia, I worked as an assistant art director and designer for a large thirty-two mural project with a team of international artists in India. It was during this time that i also completed an apprenticeship under renown bhakti artist, Syamarani Didi.
I have been an artist my whole life. I have taught art to children for fifteen years and and completed several illustration assignments over the past five years with publishing companies in the United States and abroad. I love being a freelance illustrator and look forward to expanding my portfolio in the field of children's book illustration.
