Children Books Illustrator, Cartoonist & Animator

Authors, Share Your Book with Millions of Readers

Born and educated in Romania (Masters Degree of Fine Arts), I lived in US for the last two decades or so, and I earned my living as an illustrator, cartoonist and animator.

From cartoons to realistic, from fantasy to whimsical, from colored pencils and watercolors to oils and computer mixes, my children illustrations are alive with color and not limited by any particular style or medium. Throughout my professional career I had the opportunity to illustrate a wide variety of children books in every genre: picture books, chapter books, educational books and young adult novellas.

I strived to establish myself as a serious artist and I welcomed every opportunity to work with prestigious companies such as Harcourt School Publishers, DIC Animation Studio, Filmation, and Cabbage Patch Kids, Inc., among many others.

I love my work, I never get tired of it, and I never turn down a challenge. My approach to any project is passionate, as well as professional.

But I bragged enough... I prefer to let my artwork speak for itself. Please do me the honor to visit my online portfolio to see relevant illustrations and asses if my artwork might compliment your writing. Simply Google: Doina Paraschiv, Illustrator.

Illustrating For All Your Children's Needs

by Alexander Chassey
(Philadelphia, PA)

First date?

First date?

I aim to make all my work a fun and pleasant experience.

When I do work, I focus on only two things: bright colors and spontaneity. The more playful and whimsical it is, the more successful it is. I do my best to not make my illustrations too serious or too juvenile.

Regardless of the subject matter, whether on an adult's level or a child's level, I try to bring all of my subjects to a level that is both aesthetically pleasing and a magical experience for everyone involved.

I only like to work with paint, ink, or pencil.

View Alexander Chassey's work at blogspot.

If you are interested, you can contact me at alexanderchassey@gmail.com, and we can discuss specifics, rates, etc. I look forward to hearing from you!

Thank you.

The Illustrated Imagination of Jimmy Ettele

by Jimmy Ettele
(Reading, PA)

Eureka!

Eureka!

I have never been able to pin one particular style down to my art. I have been putting a pencil to paper for as long as I can remember and because of that, my style can bring to life the words of a story.

I tend to bring elements from all worlds. The whimsical and exaggerated style of cartoons, the layouts of comic books, and the still life that captures my eye.

I have a publication to my credit, 'Where does Christmas Go?(2007)' and have recently completed my own children's book.

My price is always negotiable. I wouldn't think it fair for me to list a fee with so little experience within this field. So being able to communicate with the author and finding out what they are looking for, we can come to an agreement that meets both of our needs.

Though I may lack the proper "credentials" of some illustrators, constant practice and an imagination and creativity that is younger than my age, I pride myself on completing work to the fullest extent of my abilities.

October Illustrations

by Shannon Stamey
(Fayetteville, NC United States)

Nighttime Fantasy

Nighttime Fantasy

Authors, Share Your Book with Millions of Readers

If you were to put Maxfield Parrish, Arthur Rackham and Maurice Sendak in a blender and let Tim Burton put it on the walls of the Moulin Rouge, you'd have something very similar to what I try to accomplish on a piece of paper...

I'm usually putting small children in some very organic and interactive landscapes. Sometimes, the interaction is more narrative than others, but the picture is always showing the child in some sort of learning process.

My color schemes are heavily inspired by early 1900's French poster art and sepia-toned photographs. I like to make the illustration look and feel as if it came from a book written 50 years ago. Think: Grimm's Fairy Tales meets The Little Prince..... I am entirely self-taught and everything is done by hand, usually oil, pencil and pastel on paper or canvas. No digital art.

To see more of my work, please visit: October Illustrations and Shannon Stamey at My Art Space.

Hi! My name is Kimberly Baranyi. I am a twenty-nine year old single mother of three.

I have been drawing and painting since I was twelve years old. I am currently attending the Art Institute of Pittsburgh for a degree in Graphic Design.

I am very interested in illustration, especially, but not limited to children's books. I have three children of my own so this is a special interest of mine.

My experience includes:

Logos for local companies
Free hand murals on walls of businesses
Oil Paintings
A charcoal series of Indian portraits
Portraits
Tattoos
other artwork requested

I like to think I am good at rendering realistic sketches and oil paintings.

I do enjoy a variety of styles and mediums such as oils, watercolors, charcoal, and pen and ink, to name a few.

I am always up to the challenge of trying something new.

I am also proficient in Photoshop which does have its advantages.

I was offered a job in Florida doing the cover and artwork throughout a local magazine, but was not able to relocate at this time.

I am willing to show examples of my work via my online portfolio, as well as sample sketches of anything brought to me.

Thanks for your time and hope to hear from you soon!

Illustrator and Comic Artist!

by Tara
(NJ)

Electric City Cover, Scranton, PA November 2009

Electric City Cover, Scranton, PA November 2009

Hello,

Authors, Share Your Book with Millions of Readers

My name is Tara O'Connor, I'm a recent graduate of Marywood University. I earned my degree in Art Education and obtained a minor in Illustration.

I've been drawing since I can remember, and recently I've been working on commissions for those who are interested in my work. I also work on my own personal projects such as graphic novels and mini comics. I've also done a cover illustration for a local newspaper in my college town.

My style is very comic influenced, but it has some realistic qualities. I can always go the extra mile to make it a bit more cartoony or a bit more realistic, based on the clientele. I usually work with brush pens and I'm a fan of black and white art, but I am more than willing to add color to the mix.

Fees are negotiable and dependent on projects, and I'd be more than willing to produce sample sketches.

Even though it's likely that most communication is done through the internet, I like to keep in close contact with my clients so that they are supremely satisfied with their choice!

In addition to the sample I've provided (a local entertainment newspaper cover) I have two sites where my artwork can be found:

- Tara O'Connor
- Ginger Curls

In addition, I also have an active flickr account which I use for posting art.

You can contact me by e-mail: ginger.curls.comics@gmail.com

Thank you very much for looking!

Pencil and Pen Artist

The Offbeat of Variety

Authors, Share Your Book with Millions of Readers

One negative thing you could say about artists is that we're always looking to improve ourselves and are never quite satisfied with our work at any present time.

However, one thing I will say that I pride myself in is that I'm able to work in multiple mediums to get a more varied feel to my work.

I will admit, I have no experience in this field. But one has to start somewhere, no? I graduated from Penn State University May 2008 with a BA in English. Apart from writing, which I hope will lead to a career as an author, my second passion is art. I took AP level courses in art in high school but was limited to introductory courses in college since I had no art major or minor. Still, I like to think I improved on my skills further in those classes where I was able to experiment with oil painting and pencil.

I am most proficient in pencil and pen, but enjoy painting as well. There's no set word that can be used to describe my drawings. They can be dark or happy, mischievous or conservative, realistic or cartoon. The example I've chosen to show is a good indicator of the various styles in which I can draw a picture, although I realize it's not a complete drawing in of itself. Any drawing by itself, any of my drawings, couldn't show a piece of everything that I can do. Well, almost everything.

My other artwork can be seen at DeviantART.

Any consideration would be greatly appreciated. If considered, I would be willing to audition sketches of anything shy of technical drawings. I must say, I can't draw cars very well, much less machinery.

Thank you.

Magical childrens-book illustrator/ artist/ designer/ whimsical/ emotional/ captivating/ all styles & mediums

Authors, Share Your Book with Millions of Readers

I am Regina Iannello. I am an artist/ designer/ illustrator and I can use any medium or reflect almost any style desired with traditional media, as well as combining traditional techniques of drawing (chalk, charcoal, pencil, etc.) with newer media (Adobe CS4 programs, etc.)

My art/ illustrations convey a feeling, usually to embody the feel of the scene or the spirit of the characters. I aim to create MAGICAL scenes ... Most of the time the characters I create are whimsical and fun, and other times they are serious and ominous. Either way, the illustrations are geared towards children and evoke using their imaginations to pique their interest and captivate. I always like my art to be fun and have a real sense of emotion. I use the medium to reflect that emotion best.

I look foward to working with you and hope you will want to see more of my work!

- I have received my BFA in communication Design from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, Communication Design.

- My style is magical, fantasy, whimsical, beautiful... colorful and fun and emotion-filled!

- proficient in all traditional and some newer media too (CS4 and earlier, some Flash)

- negotiable fee (no project is too big or too small!)

- willing to do some sketches and character creation to get a job? we can set up the details and projects specs, I am flexible with any assignments so just ask!
