Jalen's Big Surprise

Jalen opened his eyes and to his surprise
there was nothing different about his room.
No bright yellow trike
no fire engine, no kite
Just what was Jalen going to do?
Jalen walked through the house
quieter than any mouse
and he saw his brother Dj and mom tucked in bed
With tears in his eyes Jalen started to cry.
And Jalen just went back to bed.
Jalen sprung out of bed with big hopes in his head
Down the hall, through the kitchen, out the door.
Mom was standing there with her arms in the air
and DJ his big brother was all smiles.
Jalen standing outside just covered his eyes.
Jalen opened his eyes and to his surprise
just what do you think he saw
a bright yellow trike,
a fire engine and a kite,
He's had the best birthday of them all!
