Love You Forever
This is a beautiful book about the circle of love, that I read to my children, and grandchildren. It's a touching story of a mother who goes through the many phases of life with her child. She starts with the adorable infant, to the grown married man, and all phases in between. She mentions the terrible two's, the teen with loud music, etc...
Although some of the stages would have her pulling her hair out by day, each night she would cradle her son in her arms and sing to him as he slept "I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always. As long as I'm living, my baby you'll be". Finally the time comes that the mother is very old and called him to say he should come see her because she is very old and sick. When he arrived she tried to sing the song to him, but couldn't finish. He went to her and picked her up, cradled her in his arms, and sang the song to her. That night when he returned home, he sang the same song to his new baby daughter. It is a beautiful story, and still brings me to tears when I read it.
