Fortunately

by Eric Van Raepenbusch
(Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio)

Fortunately, by Remy Charlip

Fortunately, by Remy Charlip

My favorite book from when I was a little boy was Fortunately, by Remy Charlip. It was one of those books that I had to check out every time I went to the library with my Mom and my sister. I can still remember where the book was located on the shelf. Once I found the book, I would plop myself down right on the floor to read it.

Fortunately, this book was quite funny. Unfortunately, much trouble comes to Ned, the little boy in the story. Fortunately, Ned is lucky and clever enough to get out of the trouble. Unfortunately, he gets stuck in this pattern of events. Fortunately, everything ends up well in the end.

Eric Van Raepenbusch is a stay at home dad, a former teacher, and the creator of the children's book blog Happy Birthday Author.
