Beautiful and Funny Illustrations

I'm from Romania, and I've done illustrations for children's books for a long time.

I like to bring a touch of humor to everything I illustrate, and I like working with children's books because they stimulate my imagination - that, and I like to make children happy, to know that they read a book with pleasure.

My illustrations can be rendered in paint or can be worked in digital format.

I paint in acrylic and oil, and I can do drawings in pencil, charcoal and ink.

I do my digital illustrations in Corel Painter X, Adobe Illustrator, or Photoshop. Most of all, I like to combine those three programs.

I've worked before with individuals but also for publishers. I've edited textbooks, and I've done illustrations for t-shirts, stickers, illustrations greeting cards, etc.

Contact me at my e-mail adress:

Check me out! I think you will like what you see, and I will look forward to working together.

Thank you for visiting my profile!

Illustrator with design and marketing experience

Haunted house kids book

Hello there!

I am Tom Skerlets (Shkrky for friends), a graphic designer who loves to illustrate for children!

I studied to be an Art teacher, but didn't get much opportunity to do that job. So I found another way to work for kids by illustrating.

I have written some stories on my own, but illustrating stories that other authors created is a much bigger joy for me.

I like to keep things simple, colors live, and drawings clear.

My designer experience lets me also help authors with book layouts, as well as all other graphic elements like logos, ad banners, etc.

My previous clients can confirm that I go with the author all the way. I offer all kinds of help in promoting a book and in marketing...

I look forward to hearing from you :)

An Absolutely Amazing Illustrator & Marketer
by: Robert Huntsman

I have worked with some of the most highly rated professional illustrators in the U.S. throughout my career and I have never seen an artist as talented, passionate and professional as Tomislav.

After interviewing several dozen illustrators for a children's book series about three bears, I hired Tomislav. His previous work was fresh and captivating. However, what most impressed me was that within a few short days he had brought to life the characters in the book in a way that I thought no artist could. The characters were even better than I had imagined they could be.

Tomislav enthusiastically met every deadline for the book while proactively reaching out with new ideas that took the book to the next level. In addition, his work was so good that I hired him to help to market the books. He developed ads that generated some of the highest click-through rates I have ever seen and I have been an executive at firms that live and die by their online marketing (DIRECTV, Progressive).

I think that, most importantly, Tomislav is a genuine pleasure to work with. He has a great manner, is highly responsive, proactive and invests his all in the projects he takes on.

I cannot recommend Tomislav highly enough.

The World of Childhood

Russian folk tale

Hello, my name is Sergey Taranik, and I have two sons. Now they both are grown up men and have their own families, but when they were children I used to read books to them.

All those books were fantastically illustrated and helped them to believe in the fairy tales I read. It was they who inspired me to illustrate books for children in that kind, funny, retro style.

During my career as an artist, I have illustrated a great many different kind of books, but literature for children was always my favourite. I prefer it to any other work.

Well, I'll let my pictures tell speak for themselves.

For more information contact Sergey Taranik.

Imagination, childhood's gift, makes drawings a point of departure for kids' dreams.

I am an art teacher and had some projects as an illustrator in my area, but the world is bigger.

I like to combine watercolour with pencils and keep the fresh, sketchlike aspect of my work.

I would like to focus on a good story. All other aspects are negotiable. I could send back sketches and communicate untill we get the job done together.

Romanian Children's Book Illustrator

by Gabriel Serban

Smaug, the Magnificent

Smaug, the Magnificent

I am a cartoonist. I have always liked humorous drawings, both pretty and witty. My line is rather simple and clear, with a very lively look and rounded, flowing shapes.

I love drawing animals (cute and comic) and story scenes - fantasy genre (dragons, knights, castles, you name it) in particular. I can execute many styles of drawing, though I do have my own unique style. Although my drawing may look a bit too severe for a childen's book, I am happy to draw more innocent-looking characters. I hope you will like what I do.

Children's book illustrator - Nino Aptsiauri

(Georgia. Tbilisi)

I’m Nino Aptsiauri, from Tbilisi, republic of Georgia, and I’m a children’s book illustrator.

I am forty one and live with my nice family: my husband, two lovely kids - Devy and Sophie - two dogs and one cat.

My family and the lovely pets help me to keep me young and in touch with what children want to see in their books and what they are hoping for when they start turning the pages.

My best memories are from my childhood. The summertime I spent in my father’s home town in the mountains in a beautiful place, with my grandmother and with my cousins. Memories of this time never leave me, and they help me to see how the sun looks in the sky and a bird on a tree to a child.

That’s why I love my job and love to make children happy.

I am glad you liked my art. Unfortunately I am already working with 3 other authors at the moment, so you can imagine what a handful that is for me , besides my day job....

And these are long term projects that I presume will take a few months, so basically I cannot help you with your book, as much as I'd like to do that.

Best regards, and best of luck with the books,
