Dream Big

by Linda Colloton

When I get big…

I won’t have to eat all of my food—especially the stuff I don’t like.

I won’t have to clean my room or make my bed.

I won’t have to look nice every time someone comes to visit.

I won’t have to take a nap every day.

I’ll have playtime whenever I want.

I’ll have a big house with hidden treasures in every room.

I’ll be so fierce that those monsters in the closet will tremble in fear.

I’ll finally get to eat dessert first--or at least after every meal.

I’ll never get into trouble because I’ll always be right.

But mostly, when I get big, I’ll get to make all of the rules.

Mom says I should always dream big. I plan to.
