But I also like this one: books that have stood the test of time. Actually, I suspect that the best definition is one that combines these two notions. Children's literature - books that stand the test of time because they made a difference in so many young lives. When a kids' book becomes children's literature A book might help a child make sense of her parent's divorce. Another book might make her feel okay about being different. A book can unlock the world of imagination. It can open one's eyes to an area of knowledge that can define one's adult life. This website is all about the importance of books in a child's life. Let's make this page a place where grown-ups can pay tribute to the books that made a difference in their own childhoods. It'll be a page where you can read praise for books that touched lives. But it will also be a page where YOU can tell about that special book that touched yours.
