Chess People
by: Jo Belmont

We contacted Jim Taylor to design reproducible characterizations of the various pieces used on a Chess Board. We taught 4th to 6th grade students and needed the characters to typify the "power" of each piece.

Jim understood with a minimum of direction and nailed it on the very first draft of each and every character (chess piece). We couldn't have been more pleased and the kids were immediately drawn to them and played ever so much more involved now that their "men" had personalities.

Our jobs were instantly made easier via Jim's visual grasp of our intent. We couldn't have done better and we appreciate being able to tell someone about him.
