I remember loving Roald Dahl's "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," but I'm not sure the reasons were entirely wholesome!

For awhile there, I was an extremely well-behaved kid...too well-behaved. I struggled even to ask for things; if I wasn't handed cake at a birthday party, I was unlikely to bring it to anyone's attention!

So you can imagine the pleasure I got from seeing ill-behaved children get their comeuppance. Augustus Gloop, Veruca Salt, Violet Beauregarde and Mike Teavee - how nice it was to see them bite the dust while soft-spoken Charlie won the factory!

(I'm not sure it registered that Charlie and Grandpa Joe had behaved rather poorly drinking the Fizzy Lifting Drinks.)

These days, I not only ask for cake, I usually ask for seconds.

In Charlie and the Chocolate factory five lucky kids would win a trip to Wonkas factory that had been closed forever. One or two parents can come with the kids. Who do you think will come?

The lucky winners won a big truck of candy. And the winners were Veruca Salt, Mike Teavee, Violet Beauregard, Augustus Gloop, Charlie Bucket. They were so happy and the parents were so proud. My favorite part was when Charlie ate the chocolate so fast.

I would love to go to a chocolate factory. Would you? I would recommend this book to kids that love candy. Warning kids might hear or see bad words in this book.
