Eight Years to Write, One Month to Publish!

I am a father of four, ranging in age from twelve to eighteen. I have a full time job as a software engineer and I write in my "spare" time. I suppose you may now understand why my first project took eight years to complete!

After I finished the book, I began sending query letters to book agents. After sending out about thirty, and receiving about 15 negative responses, I decided that I would put it on hold while working on other projects.

After a while, I got the itch again, so I decided to explore the self-publishing route. Its been a lot of fun! I formatted the interior myself using MS word, purchased a royalty free photograph off of a website to use as the cover, and created the actual cover using Photoshop. The process could not have been easier. Using CreateSpace, you upload your cover and interior files, and for less than ten bucks and in less than a week, you have a proof to review!

The quality is very good, and the price is reasonable. I can purchase copies of a 290 page novel, for less than 4.50!
