Bonnie Everett-Hawkes, Published Children's Book Illustrator

Rodney Raises a Family by J. Caughron, illustrated by Bonnie Everett-Hawkes

Rodney Raises a Family by J. Caughron, illustrated by Bonnie Everett-Hawkes

I have been drawing, designing and creating since I was old enough to hold a pencil. I come from a family endowed with artists, writers, and composers, many whom have graced the pages of American history. I have illustrated over 30 books for children and educators, including an early reader's emergent series and I am the author of two books.

I began my publishing career in 1975, illustrating for Christian organizations and denominations. My work has been included in many children's magazines and ezines.

As a professional illustrator, I have entertained at numerous schools, libraries, festivals and museums. I am a proud member of The Society of Children's Book Writer's and Illustrators. I am an honors graduate of The Art Institute of Dallas, TX, where I earned a degree in Graphic Design. I am also an accomplished free-lance photographer, portrait artist and a member of The American Society of Portrait Artists.

My work has been shown world wide and commissioned by churches, businesses and foreign dignitaries. I work with many self-published authors and my goal is to help them achieve their dream of seeing their books illustrated and published. See more samples of my work at my web site, Bonnie Everett-Hawkes.com!

Enjoyed working with you on my book!
by: Nalani Scharsch Hao

Aloha Bonnie!

The Old Nene Book of Hawaiian Nursery Rhymes, the book you illustrated so beautifully for me, is now for sale on the British Online Catalogue of the Blackwell Bookstore. I guess the combination of artistry and lyrics (because they can be sung, after all) has attracted people all over the World.

Mahalo nui loa for doing such a superb job! I'm looking forward to working together on our next project!

Aloha & malama pono,

Nalani

Rodney Looks GREAT, Doesn't He?
by: Judy Caughron Byers

Wow, Bonnie! Rodney really looks GREAT! Now, all we need is for a few hundred kids to fall in love with him, as you and I did, and pass the word along.

Rodney was only a figment of my very vivid imagination until I introduced him to Bonnie Everett-Hawkes. She captured the essence of him and shortly sent me "proofs". Her "Rodney" illustrations brought my story to life. I will be forever grateful to her and for her.

Bonnie has the heart of an angel. She is extremely easy to work with, and she KNOWS what she is doing. She makes illustration seem effortless. Her work is impeccable.

She is currently working on another project with me called I AM SPECIAL. This is a loving children's book, written in rhyme. It was inspired by Cody, my nephew, who unfortunately suffers from Down's Syndrome disease.

Rodney Raises A Family is available at Lulu.

Bonnie is great
by: Margy Ohring

Bonnie did the cover of my award-winning book, Cat-House Sonnets, 100 poems celebrating cats. She is easy to work with and really listens to an author's comments and suggestions. She has become a wonderful friend as well. I would gladly recommend her and her work to anyone looking for quality.
